Creature of habit and lover of sales means my yearly trip to Arnhem for the Arnhemse Stockdagen. I went to shop..but I did manage to snap a few pics along the way.
I promise to get back to you with the spoils but for now, I want to highlight a few shopping shops.
A new location this year was the Kleefse Waard where you got to see young designers in their workspace. Pretty much every thing, from tub to heated rug to chest, that Weltevree makes has me all greedy with want. I love the warm look and space saving idea of the Livestock stools by Tijn van Orsouw. I love the Mesmatics lamp from Rick Tegelaar and even in the workspace it shines. The textiles, prints and ditto creation process via sound waves from Roos Meerman have me all abuzz.
Van Mij is one of those delicious little gems that are never quite the same each time you visit. I got the most amazing porcelain set for my baking adventures and the cutest miniature tops that are epic fun at dinner time.
Arnhem Coming Soon is the Arnhem Dutch Design concept store twin to You are Here in Eindhoven. This is the design store with an inspiring collection for bod and home. I mean check out that amazeballs dress from Claes Iverson, free form sculptures or the stunning display of rose gold pretties amongst broken black pottery! I also love the simple white ceramic cups and bowls and made my second porcelain purchase of the day but that you'll just have to wait to see.
Speaking of pottery, a trip to Arnhem is not complete without a trip to my fave spot for ceramics; Lenneke Wispelwey. Her displays are always as creative (curiouser and curiouser) as her work is stunning. My latest little gems I'll probably only show later but they're worth it!
I stayed at fashion hotel Modez, conveniently located in the fashion quarter, and in the room designed by Monique van Heist. Plant power, baby! Did you even spot me (suited up) in the pic?
 P. S. Whipping out the DSLR at dinner time is a no-no so no picks but Goed Proeven was a great dinner spot. Packed to the rafters and only bar seating left without reservations on a Friday but the food was great, the atmosphere lively and the chocolate dessert platter a deadly sin..
